Mother’s Day 2018 was when I received my DNA results. Out to breakfast with my daughter & 2 granddaughters. What could be more appropriate than having 3 generations together. I opened the email with great anticipation. At first I was only interested in my ethnicity which suddenly became the focus of conversation at breakfast. Later in the day when I was alone I looked at my DNA matches not really knowing what any of it meant. Slowly over the next few months I learnt more and gained a much greater understanding of exactly what having your DNA tested is really all about. I have found new cousins and discovered so much more about my ancestors. Little did I know that within a few months I would be running a DNA special interest group as well as becoming an Ambassador for #DNA DownUnder roadshow. And just like that my DNA had begun!
